A.G. Lafley to be Honored as Leader of the Future

The Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute Recognizes Procter & Gamble CEO

NEW YORK, OCTOBER 21, 2008: On November 5, 2008, the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute (founded as the Peter Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management) will present its Leader of the Future Award to A.G. Lafley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Procter and Gamble Company. According to Frances Hesselbein, the Institute?s Chairman and Founding President, ?Mr. Lafley embodies Peter Drucker?s definition of a leader and leadership.  He is the leader of one of the greatest corporations in the world in service, in caring about the customer, placing the customer first, demonstrating every day the Drucker principles.?

The Leader of the Future Award was launched in 2006 to honor values-based leaders of character who have ?the vision to see and the courage to shape the future.?  The award is presented annually to a leader of integrity and character, a model for defining the future and serving the public good.

The inaugural award was presented to Alan Mulally, President and CEO of the Ford Motor Company in 2006. Andrea Jung, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Avon Products, Inc. was the 2007 honoree.

The award will be presented at Leader to Leader?s annual Celebration which will be held on the 35th floor of the Mutual of America Life Insurance Company on Park Avenue.
